Comme tous les ans, l’association du 550 Squadron RAF se réunit à North Killingholme afin de rendre hommage aux aviateurs de l’escadrille morts au combat. Cette réunion rassemble une centaine de membres issus de tout le Royaume-Uni. Cette année, une délégation venait d’Irlande, du Danemark et de Belgique.
Les participants se sont retrouvés déjà la veille au cours d’un repas informel. Le lendemain, Allan et Béatrice Turner recevaient tout ce monde dans leur hôtel « Amethyst » pour un lunch.
Après s’être restaurés, les convives sont retournés au village de North Killingholme pour se rendre en procession au monument du Mémorial du 550 Squadron. La cérémonie s’est alors déroulée selon le rite britannique: le Pasteur de la paroisse de North Killingholme a officié la célébration qui se termina par le dépôt des gerbes et l’hymne national britannique.

As is the case every year, the 550 RAF Squadron Association meets in North Killingholme to pay tribute to the fallen airmen of the squadron. This meeting brings together some 100 members from all over the UK. This year, a delegation came from Ireland, Denmark and Belgium.
The participants met the day before during an informal meal. The next day, Allan and Béatrice Turner received everyone in their hotel «Amethyst» for lunch.
After being restored, the guests returned to the village of North Killingholme for a procession to the 550 Squadron Memorial monument. The ceremony took place according to the British rite: the pastor of the parish of North Killingholme officiated the celebration which ended with the laying of the wreaths and the British national anthem.
