Septante-trois ans après que le Lancaster LL810 du 550 Squadron se soit crashé, le 28 mai 2017, il a été procédé à l'inauguration d'un monument à la mémoire des membres de l'équipage qui ont tous été tués dans l'accident.
C'est à l'initiative de la commune de Lichtervelde, avec le concours du cercle d'histoire local (le "Heemkundige Kring") que cette manifestation a pu avoir lieu.
Plusieurs descendants de membres de l'équipage étaient présents: Linda Johnston, Fiona et Stephen Pidgeon pour Arthur Hall, Paul Sant, pour Charles Bonner et Kevin Summers et sa famille pour Ronald Drury.
Mme Alison Rose, Ambassadeur du Royaume-Uni assistait à la commémoration, ainsi que Mme Nicola Hinder représentan d’Australie, le Colonel Alain Pintelon, délégué du gouvernement belge.
La R.A.F.A. était représentée par M. Michel de Norman d'Audenauve, Président, l'Association du Mémorial de Rebecq par M. Gilbert Beeckmans et le 550 Squadron RAF North Killingholme par Wilfred Burie.
La cérémonie a commencé par une minute de silence à la mémoire des disparus de l'attentat survenu à Manchester. Après les discours, le monument a été dévoilé par Mme l'Ambassadeur du Royaume-Uni et Mme Ria Pattyn, Bourgmestre de Lichtervelde. Un dépôt de gerbe, une minute de silence et les hymnes nationaux ont suivi.
Seventy three years after Lancaster LL810 of 550 Squadron crashes, on May 28th, 2017, he was proceeded to the inauguration of a monument to the memory of the crew members which were all killed in the accident.
It is at the initiative of the municipality of Lichtervelde, with the cooperation of the local historical association ("Heemkundige Kring") that this service of remembrance could take place.

The R.A.F.A. was represented by Mr. Michel de Norman d'Audenauve, President, the Association of the Memorial of Rebecq by Mr. Gilbert Beeckmans and the 550 Squadron RAF North Killingholme by Wilfred Burie.
The ceremony began with one minute of silence to the memory of the missing persons of the attack arisen in Manchester few days before.
After the speeches, the monument was unveiled by Mrs Ambassador of the United Kingdom and Mrs Ria Pattyn, Mayor de Lichtervelde. A laying of wreaths, one minute of silence and the national anthems followed.
